The Donbass militias and Russian forces have had a very tough time removing the Kiev regime forces from their land, precisely because the Soviets built strong infrastructure and sturdy shelters for their population.
The apartment buildings have fortified basement shelters, the factories have shelters, the schools have shelters, the subways have shelters....and the ungrateful Ukies and their western puppeteers have taken advantage of those shelters to stubbornly dig into the property of the Donbass people.
Americans? At my elementary school they slapped a yellow triangle on the school cafeteria that announced it was a "nuclear fallout shelter". Sure it was, dudes. Why don't we just stay under the desks, which will also protect us, right? Isn't that what you told us?
Remember when Hawaiians were warned that missiles were incoming a few years ago? "Take shelter" they were told.
Take shelter? Where? What a joke!
Same with air defense. The Russians have produced very effective air defense systems, while the US, as usual, looked at air defense as a money-maker for the MIC. It didn't have to actually work, because, the US is always going to have air superiority, doncha know.
The Patriot missiles are a dud, and no amount of spin can put lipstick on that. (Well, for the American people, yeah, but not for the countries arm-twisted into buying the systems.)
It is very clear now that the US and the Russians both understood exactly who was going to attack and who was going to defend.
