Distorted Perception

My community radio station had a Mardi Gras party on Friday which included a second line parade, which is people dancing in a line around the perimeter of the venue.

The next day one of the DJs, who apparently had never seen a Dixieland parade, said on the radio that he saw people getting into a line and holding onto each other and dancing. In other words, he described a conga line. He didn't see a conga line, he saw a parade. But he apparently had no previous knowledge slot to fit that into, so he formed a memory which was inaccurate and reported it as fact.

Americans are used to Shock and Awe as their preferred way of waging war on other people. Americans like to spare the lives of their soldiers, so they wage war by flattening cities and killing everyone in them, ensuring that no one is capable of fighting back. Americans also target water treatment plants, electricity generator stations, bridges, food siloes, schools and hospitals, etc. as a way to force compliance of the surviving population.

So the "news" reports we are getting from Ukraine is that Russia is flattening cities, targeting infrastructure, bombing apartments and hospitals, etc.

There was a traffic cam in downtown Kiev that was on a website showing traffic cams around the world. Many people were going to the website and watching downtown Kiev not being bombed, with electricity and internet access still working. That Kiev camera has now been removed. We can't have people seeing something different from what is being described to them by the professional propagandists. The Official Narrative is that Russia is using Shock and Awe on Ukraine. Since most Americans are already programmed to think that that is how war is done, it is an easy sell, but to make sure, all dissenting narratives as well as inconvenient facts and evidence, are removed. From banning RT and RU to removing videos from YouTube that do not follow the official line to shutting down traffic cams, the information war is repressive to dissent as well as overwhelming in presentation of the perferred narrative.

That is how they roll. Usually it takes years or decades for the truth to come out, but with the internet and social media, the lies can be quickly exposed. From the "Russian tank running over the car" which turned out to be a Ukrainian tank, to the "Russia bombed an apartment building in Kiev" which turned out to be damage from a Ukrainian air defense missile to the pregnant woman shown walking down stairs, and also being carried out on a stretcher and also standing with a blanket in front of the "maternity hospital" that turned out to have been emptied the week before (which the Russian ambassador to the UN had told the UN 4 days before), the standard heartstring-tugging propaganda ploys were quickly revealed to be false. Sure, most people are only exposed to the Official Narrative, which is saturating all legacy media and most of social, but our ruling overlords still find it necessary to restrict information to those few who might be open to actual facts.

And then they tell us we live in a free and open democracy. That is the biggest lie of all.
